    Details

    In the 80s and 90s, Smiley® became the symbol of electronic music subcultures founded on acceptance and uninhibited joy — the 1461 Smiley® shoe celebrates music’s positivity and the defiant optimism of the dancefloor. The shoe is built from black Smooth leather with a DM’s yellow Smiley® print emblazoned across the vamp and backstrap. The shoe is fitted with black eyelets and dual laces: a black pair with Smiley® text and a secondary yellow pair with the Smiley® branded icon. Smiley® branding is on the shoe’s sock and footpad, and our grooved trans DMS outsole is secured with a black welt and our unmistakable yellow welt stitching.

    • Second off the DM’s production line, the 1461 shoe is a 3-eye silhouette championed for its versatility.
    • Hardwearing and famously tough, our Smooth leather can be polished to shine or scuffed-up. It's up to you.
    • A pillar of DM’s construction. Our Original and most recognisable sole. Marked by a traditional DMS tread and grooving pattern unique to Dr. Martens. One of our most flexible soles, well known for its comfort and stability​.
    • Our Goodyear-welted lines are heat-sealed at up to 700˚C and reinforced with our signature welt stitch.
    • Includes dual laces.

    Material

    Smooth - durable and famously stiff to start, this leather can be polished to a dapper shine or artfully scuffed-up depending on your preference.
